Terms of Service

Last updated: August 5, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of BeforePress ("BeforePress", "we", "us"), a product operated by Master Inbox LLC, including our website at beforepress.com, the signal feed, API, webhooks, and account areas (together, the "Service"). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service. By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you do not have permission to access the Service.

1. The Service

BeforePress is a software-as-a-service product. It monitors public records and delivers business signals (such as company funding raises and executive changes) to subscribers through a web feed, REST API, and webhooks, for business intelligence purposes. Signals are business information, not investment, legal, or financial advice.

2. Subscriptions, billing, and renewal

The Service is billed on a subscription basis ("Subscription"). You will be billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis ("Billing Cycle"). At the end of each Billing Cycle, your Subscription automatically renews under the same conditions unless you cancel it or we cancel it. You may cancel your Subscription at any time from your account page or by contacting support; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current Billing Cycle.

Payments are processed by Paddle. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. A valid payment method is required to purchase a Subscription; by submitting payment information you authorize the recurring Subscription charges.

Founder pricing. Accounts on the founding plan keep their subscription price for as long as the Subscription remains continuously active. This price commitment survives any general price change.

We may modify Subscription fees for other plans with reasonable prior notice; any change becomes effective at the end of the then-current Billing Cycle, and continued use after it takes effect constitutes agreement to the new fee.

3. Refunds

Your first month is fully refundable: if you are not satisfied for any reason, request a refund within 30 days of your first payment and we will refund it in full, no questions asked. After the first Billing Cycle, Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law or where Section 7 (retractions) applies. Refund requests: [email protected]. Refunds are issued through Paddle to the original payment method. See the full Refund Policy.

4. Accounts and API keys

When you create an account you guarantee that you are over 18 and that the information you provide is accurate, complete, and current. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and API keys and for all activity under them. Notify us promptly if you believe a key is compromised; keys can be reset from your account or by support.

5. Acceptable use

6. Data accuracy

We work hard on accuracy and attach a verification receipt to signals so you can check them. Still, signals are provided "as is" without warranty of completeness, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.

7. Retractions

If we determine a signal was materially wrong, we may mark it retracted. Where a paid plan was charged for a retracted signal under metered features, we credit it back.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, its software, design, and original content are and remain the exclusive property of Master Inbox LLC. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service and delivered signals in your own business workflows for the duration of your Subscription.

9. Third-party links and services

The Service may reference or link to third-party websites or services we do not control (for example, integration partners). We assume no responsibility for their content, policies, or practices.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that violates these Terms, is harmful to other users or the Service, or is unlawful. You may terminate at any time by cancelling your Subscription. Provisions which by their nature should survive termination survive, including ownership, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits or revenues.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of it; if any provision is held invalid, the rest remain in effect.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. If a revision is material we will provide at least 15 days' notice by email or on this page before the new terms take effect. Continued use after revisions become effective constitutes acceptance.
